How to cancel Apple subscriptions
Apple subscriptions is a list of everything billed by Apple, including App Store apps and Apple’s own services. Here is where the cancel button lives, what you keep and lose, and what to check before and after.
Steps
- On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings and tap your name, then Subscriptions
- Tap the subscription
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll to find it
Open Apple subscriptions’s account page
What happens when you cancel
Cancelling stops future renewals. What you keep depends on the service: Apple’s own subscriptions and App Store apps generally run to the end of the period you have paid. A trial should be cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends if you do not want it to renew. Apple says the exact path differs in some countries, including Germany, Israel, South Africa and Türkiye.
Refunds
Cancelling does not by itself refund the current period. Apple’s billing help says you can request a refund for an App Store or iTunes purchase from your purchase history, and Apple decides. A charge that is not from Apple is refunded, if at all, by the company that billed you.
Before you cancel
- A charge from apple.com/bill can be an app, a subscription, or music and films bought from Apple. Sign in to see the purchase. With Family Sharing and Purchase Sharing on, the organiser sees their own charges; a family member’s subscription is cancelled by that member, not by you. Search email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple” if the subscription is missing. If there is no Apple receipt, another company is billing you.
- If you pay through Apple, Google Play, Amazon or a phone bundle, cancel there; the provider’s own page will not let you.
- Check the renewal date and any notice deadline first. Complete cancellation before that deadline and check the confirmed access end date.
After you cancel
- Keep the confirmation email. If a charge appears later, it is your proof.
- Access normally continues until the end of the paid period, then stops.
- Check the next card statement once, to be sure the charge is gone.

On an iPhone or iPad open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, tap the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
What is a charge from apple.com/bill?
Apple says it can be apps, subscriptions, or music and movie purchases from Apple. Sign in to see the purchase, and cancel the subscription if you do not want it to renew.
Can I cancel a family member’s Apple subscription?
No. Apple says only the Apple Account on the receipt can cancel it.
The subscription is not in my list. What now?
