How to cancel Philo
Philo is a US live-TV streaming service. Here is where the cancel button lives, what you keep and lose, and what to check before and after.
Steps
- Sign in at philo.com
- Click your profile avatar and select Account
- Click Cancel my subscription
- Click Complete cancellation
Cancelling through an app store or a bundle
The steps above are for a subscription taken out with Philo directly. If the charge on your statement comes from Apple, Google, Amazon or another company, that company holds the subscription and the cancel button is there.
If you pay through Apple
On an iPhone or Apple TV: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Philo, Cancel Subscription.
If you pay through Google Play
In the Play Store: profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Philo, Cancel subscription.
If you pay through Amazon
Philo says an Amazon subscription is cancelled at Amazon’s app store subscriptions: Actions, Turn off auto-renewal.
What happens when you cancel
Philo says you can keep watching the paid channels for the rest of the billing cycle, and the free channels after that. You can reactivate later.
Refunds and the free trial
Philo’s help states a no-refund policy. Cancelling stops the next charge and does not refund the current period, except where the law requires it. Philo’s terms say a third-party plan should be cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal, or by that store’s own deadline.
Trial offers differ. Philo’s terms say a trial converts to a paid plan unless you cancel during the trial, from the Account page or through the third party that bills you.
Before you cancel
- Cancel with whoever bills you. The philo.com button is only for a plan bought from Philo. Check the Account page if you are unsure.
- Check the renewal date and any notice deadline first. Complete cancellation before that deadline and check the confirmed access end date.
After you cancel
- Keep the confirmation email. If a charge appears later, it is your proof.
- Access normally continues until the end of the paid period, then stops.
- Check the next card statement once, to be sure the charge is gone.
