How to cancel NOW

NOW is the UK streaming membership, paid monthly or for a minimum term. Here is where the cancel button lives, what you keep and lose, and what to check before and after.

The NOW app has no cancel button. BT TV and EE TV plans are cancelled with that provider.

Steps

  1. On the NOW website, open My Account and sign in
  2. Open Membership, or My Membership
  3. Choose Cancel next to the membership and follow the on-screen steps

Open NOW’s account page

NOW says you can only cancel on the website. The app has no cancel option. You get a confirmation on the page and an email within 3 hours, and you can keep watching until the next payment date. A minimum-term plan can be cancelled the same way, but it does not end until the minimum term ends, and the remaining payments are still taken. Cancel each membership on its own. If you have more than one NOW account, sign in to each. Boost or Ultra Boost is cancelled the same way; cancelling your last monthly membership cancels a NOW-billed Boost from the next billing date.

In the UK

NOW is the UK service. The cancel path above is the UK website. A pass bought through Apple, with no NOW account, is cancelled in Apple’s subscriptions.

Cancelling through an app store or a bundle

The steps above are for a subscription taken out with NOW directly. If the charge on your statement comes from Apple, Google, Amazon or another company, that company holds the subscription and the cancel button is there.

If you pay through Amazon

If Amazon bills the membership, NOW says to cancel it under Memberships and Subscriptions in your Amazon account. The Membership page shows when Amazon is the biller.

Other ways you may be billed

EE TV and BT TV customers cannot cancel NOW inside My Account. Cancel it in the EE TV or BT TV account, or contact that provider.

What happens when you cancel

A flexible monthly membership keeps running until the next payment date. A minimum-term plan keeps running, and charging, until the end of that term, then stops if you cancelled. If you do not cancel a minimum-term plan before it ends, it continues at the regular price.

Refunds

NOW’s cancellation article does not offer a refund of the current month or of the payments left on a minimum term. A Sports Day Membership starts immediately and cannot be cancelled, except one bought in the last 14 days that has not been activated, which NOW says to cancel by contacting them.

Questions about cancelling NOW

How do I cancel NOW?

On the website open My Account, then Membership, choose Cancel next to the membership and follow the steps. The app cannot do it.

I am on a NOW minimum-term plan. When does it end?

You can request cancellation in My Account, but NOW says it takes effect at the end of the minimum term. The remaining monthly payments are still taken.

How do I cancel NOW if I pay through BT or EE?

Not in NOW. Cancel it in your BT TV or EE TV account, or contact that provider.

Can I cancel a NOW Sports Day Membership?

No, once it has started. It runs for 24 hours. One bought in the last 14 days and not yet activated is cancelled by contacting NOW.
