How to cancel Crunchyroll
Crunchyroll is the anime streaming membership. Here is where the cancel button lives, what you keep and lose, and what to check before and after.
Steps
- On crunchyroll.com, open your profile, then Settings, then Membership Info, and check who bills you
- If you pay Crunchyroll directly, choose Cancel Subscription
- Choose No thanks, Finish Cancellation, then submit or skip the feedback
Open Crunchyroll’s account page
Cancelling through an app store or a bundle
The steps above are for a subscription taken out with Crunchyroll directly. If the charge on your statement comes from Apple, Google, Amazon or another company, that company holds the subscription and the cancel button is there.
If you pay through Apple
An iOS subscription is billed by Apple. Cancel it from the Crunchyroll app’s Manage screen, which opens the App Store subscription, or in Settings, your name, Subscriptions.
If you pay through Google Play
An Android subscription billed by Google is cancelled from the Play Store subscriptions list, or from the Manage screen in the Crunchyroll app.
What happens when you cancel
You keep Premium until the membership expires at the end of the billing period. A message that you may not cancel at this time usually means a payment is still pending. Crunchyroll says support can finish the cancellation.
Refunds
Crunchyroll’s cancellation article does not promise a refund of the current period. One charge can still appear if you cancel on or after the renewal date; they describe it as the final period, not a new renewal. A store purchase is refunded, if at all, by that store.
Before you cancel
- You may have more than one Crunchyroll account. If Cancel is missing, check the email on the receipt and the biller named under Membership Info. A pending payment can block the button until support clears it.
- Check the renewal date and any notice deadline first. Complete cancellation before that deadline and check the confirmed access end date.
After you cancel
- Keep the confirmation email. If a charge appears later, it is your proof.
- Access normally continues until the end of the paid period, then stops.
- Check the next card statement once, to be sure the charge is gone.
Questions about cancelling Crunchyroll
How do I cancel Crunchyroll?
If you pay Crunchyroll on the website, open Settings, Membership Info, Cancel Subscription, then No thanks, Finish Cancellation.
How do I cancel Crunchyroll on an iPhone?
The website will not do it. In the Crunchyroll app open Membership, Manage, Cancel Subscription, and finish in the App Store.
Does deleting the Crunchyroll app cancel it?
No. Crunchyroll says deleting the app, signing out or removing the card does not stop billing.
I cancelled and was still charged. Why?
Often the renewal was already processing, the charge is on another email, or Apple, Google or a partner still has the subscription.
