How to cancel Deezer

Deezer is a music streaming service. Here is where the cancel button lives, what you keep and lose, and what to check before and after.

Apple and mobile-partner plans are cancelled with them.

Steps

On the Deezer website, open your profile and choose Account Settings
Choose Manage my subscription
Choose Cancel my subscription
Choose a reason and confirm

Open Deezer’s account page

On iPhone, Deezer’s help says: profile, Settings, Plan management, Subscription details and invoices, Cancel my subscription, then a reason and Confirm. On Android: profile, Settings, Manage my subscription, then the cancel prompt and Cancel subscription. You should get a confirmation email. An Apple subscription can only be cancelled with Apple. A plan from a mobile partner such as a phone network is cancelled with that partner.

Cancelling through an app store or a bundle

The steps above are for a subscription taken out with Deezer directly. If the charge on your statement comes from Apple, Google, Amazon or another company, that company holds the subscription and the cancel button is there.

If you pay through Apple

If you subscribed through Apple, only Apple can cancel it. Deezer cannot.

What happens when you cancel

Premium continues until the end of the current period, then the account becomes Deezer Free. Downloads stop playing offline. Playlists, loved tracks and the library stay visible. Deezer says a plan renews unless you cancel at least 48 hours before the renewal date.

Refunds

Deezer’s cancellation article does not offer a refund of the current period. If you were charged after cancelling, their help lists another account, an unfinished cancellation, or a delay at Apple or a partner.

Before you cancel

If you cannot find Cancel, you may already be on the free plan, or the subscription is on another email. Wait for the confirmation email before assuming it is done.
Check the renewal date and any notice deadline first. Complete cancellation before that deadline and check the confirmed access end date.

After you cancel

Keep the confirmation email. If a charge appears later, it is your proof.
Access normally continues until the end of the paid period, then stops.
Check the next card statement once, to be sure the charge is gone.

Will I lose my Deezer playlists?
