How to cancel SiriusXM

SiriusXM is a music & audio subscription, typically $9.99 a month. Here is where the cancel button lives and what to watch for.

Steps

Online cancel is offered at siriusxm.com/cancel for self-pay accounts
Otherwise chat or call 1-866-635-2349 and state that you want to cancel
Ask for and keep a cancellation confirmation number

Before you cancel

If you pay through Apple, Google Play, Amazon or a phone bundle, cancel there; the provider’s own page will not let you.
Check the renewal date first and cancel a day or two before it, so you get the full period you paid for without another charge.

After you cancel

Keep the confirmation email. If a charge appears later, it is your proof.
Access normally continues until the end of the paid period, then stops.
Check the next card statement once, to be sure the charge is gone.
