How to cancel Planet Fitness

Planet Fitness is a fitness & health subscription, typically $15.00 a month. Here is where the cancel button lives and what to watch for.

Annual fee is charged on a fixed date each year regardless of when you joined.

Cancel in person at your home club, or by certified letter to the club
Some states now allow online cancellation from your account page
Keep proof; a final billing cycle usually still runs

Before you cancel

Give 7 days’ notice: Planet Fitness needs it before the next renewal, so cancel at least that far ahead.
If you pay through Apple, Google Play, Amazon or a phone bundle, cancel there; the provider’s own page will not let you.
Check the renewal date first and cancel a day or two before it, so you get the full period you paid for without another charge.

After you cancel

Keep the confirmation email. If a charge appears later, it is your proof.
Access normally continues until the end of the paid period, then stops.
Check the next card statement once, to be sure the charge is gone.
